SMIT Help Information for Multiprotocol Ports and Adapters

Parent adapter

Identifies the logical name of the adapter device with the physical port where the multiprotocol port definition is to apply.


Status

Indicates the current status of the multiprotocol port. Possible values are available, indicating that the port is configured in the system and ready to be used, and defined, indicating that the port is defined to the system but not configured.


IBM 2-Port Multiprotocol Adapter

Refers to any of the PCI 2-Port Multiprotocol adapters.


Manage Device Drivers for 2-Port Multiprotocol Adapter

Adds, removes, or configures a device driver that is associated with a 2-Port Multiprotocol Adapter.


Manage HDLC Device Driver

Manages the HDLC Network Device Driver (NDD) that operates on the 2-Port Multiprotocol Adapter.


Manage SDLC COMIO Device Driver Emulator

You can add emulation of the SDLC COMIO interface that is compatible with the Multiprotocol Quad Port (MPQP) device to the HDLC Network Device Driver. You must configure emulation of this COMIO interface for each instance of an HDLC Network Device Driver that you want emulated.


Add a Device Driver

Adds a device driver to work with one of the available addresses.


Remove a Device Driver

Disassociates a device driver from the device with which it is currently associated.
