Running the IDE in administrative mode

To use the Software Updates Manager to install and update in the IDE, you must run IDE in administrative mode.

To run the IDE in administrative mode:

  1. Log in as a root on Linux, or as a user who has system-administrator privileges on Windows.
  2. Start the QNX Momentics IDE in administrative mode:
    • For Windows, select Start > Programs > QNX Software Development Platform 6.5.0 > QNX Momentics IDE 4.7 Administrative mode .
    • For Linux, open a terminal window and then type qde_admin to launch the IDE in administrative mode.
The IDE launches and administrative version of the application, and then it lets the Software Updates Manager install or update software features for the IDE.
